Symantec Makes the World a Better Place

norton_fighter
Today is my last day at Symantec, where I’ve been for many years. In honor of their work, I wanted to post an open letter I wrote to my coworkers, who are precious to me.

Hello friends,

Though I leave Symantec today, I remain deeply proud of your vision and promise. You are the “good guys” in a world that has too few of them.

You are a beacon of light in a dark world, defending the innocent from those with ill-intent. You protect children from online predators. You secure retirement funds from phishing scams. You safeguard precious memories. You keep critical systems running at crucial times. Remember, as you work each day, that you are striking a blow against those who harm others for selfish gain.

  • May your motivation continue to be more about mission than margin.
  • May your goals continue to be more about goodness than gold.
  • May you reach more for what rights wrongs than for what lines wallets.

May you faithfully fulfill your charge to make this world better. Thank you for these great years. I will always bleed yellow!

  1. Best wishes in your future endeavors, Tristan. Having been an employee of Symantec (2004-2007) and an inhabitant of the world (longer than that), I can say without hesitation that you’ve made both Symantec and the world a better place.

  2. What now, Tristan?

I don’t know if I’ve ever said it before, but you should write more… 🙂

  5. I bet you are one of the most valued partner of Symantec. Your message was gratifying and an inspiration to the work force. Just how great were the times you’ve spent there. More powers to your new endeavor at Informatica.
